Our client, a reputable laboratory equipment supplier is currently seeking the services of a results-driven Stores Officer to assist their stores’ department with their daily operations.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all store activities as underlined below.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that stocks are accurate in terms of quantities without shortages.
• Check opening stocks and update on a daily basis.

• Clean and maintain a good working environment.

• Ensure that all stocks are accurate in terms of quantities without shortages.

• Keep a good display on the items, maintain good visibility (stands, shelves, pyramids), lighting system, and ventilation.

• Check that all items received for quantity, quality, and return or reject if rusted, near expiry, or damaged.

• Keep proper filing of all waybills, invoices, returns, transfer papers, or any other documents.
• Conduct a stock audit and inform the manager of any near expires or low stock levels.
• Respect all company rules and regulations.
• Check the store for pests and rodents (rats) and organize a periodic schedule for insecticide spraying
• Alert the manager about any shortage or undelivered items from the main warehouse.
• Store and arrange the stock by properly considering a FIFO (First-in-First-Out) Strategy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• HND Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
• Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management.
• Minimum of (2) years working experience in the same industry.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good reporting skills on stock/inventory
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint).
• Good typing proficiency
• Good attention to detail
• Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand pharmaceutical and analytical equipment
• Good understanding of purchase and supply
• Willingness to do work under little supervision
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in the context of a multidisciplinary health team
• Analytical mind and ability to make accurate mathematical computations
• Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices suitable for the warehouse environment
