Our client, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Solar Site Supervisor to oversee all solar site operations, manpower, contractors, and construction projects.

ROLE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, maintenance, performance, safety and technical coordination of the solar site, including supervision of site personnel, contractors and service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage overall site activities, manpower, contractors and construction progress.
• Supervise civil, structural, electrical and mechanical works.
• Coordinate installation of PV modules, mounting structures, inverters, transformers, cables and switchgear.
• Monitor EPC contractors and subcontractors against approved drawings, specifications, schedules and quality requirements.
• Coordinate substation, transmission/evacuation, roads, drainage, fencing and other balance-of-plant works.
• Review daily/weekly progress and maintain site reports, work schedules and action trackers.
• Identify construction delays, technical issues and resource requirements and report them to management.
• Coordinate material delivery, inspection, storage and utilisation at site.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental and quality requirements.
• Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, snagging and handover.
• Liaise with consultants, engineers, government authorities and local stakeholders when required.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, progress and compliance with project requirements.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and method statements.
• Ensure construction activities are properly documented, including daily site reports, inspection records and progress reports.
• Support the resolution of technical and construction-related issues on site.
• Ensure proper coordination between different contractors, engineering teams and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor the use of equipment, tools, materials and manpower to ensure efficient resource utilisation.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in solar PV/renewable-energy project execution.
• Strong experience in utility-scale solar construction and site management.
• Good knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical infrastructure and construction activities.
• Strong contractor management, planning, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on project sites in Ghana.
• Experience supervising EPC contractors and multiple subcontractors.
• Demonstrated experience in construction, installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV projects.
• Knowledge of applicable construction, electrical, HSE and environmental standards.
• Professional engineering certification or membership of a recognised engineering body will be an advantage.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in managing or supervising large-scale solar PV projects from construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of PV modules, mounting systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cabling and related electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications and construction plans.
• Strong knowledge of site safety, quality control and environmental requirements.
• Excellent project coordination and contractor management skills.
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills with good attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; knowledge of project management or construction software is an advantage.
• Ability and willingness to work on project sites and travel when required.
• Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
