Our client, a reputable and leading sustainability consulting firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven ACCOUNTANT to join their dynamic team.
ROLE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will demonstrate high-level proficiency in budgeting, financial forecasting, and providing sound financial advice to management to support strategic decision-making. The role requires strong expertise in the use of standard accounting software and the ability to maintain a clean and accurate general ledger at all times. He /she will also undertake the following tasks:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including general ledger accounts, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and provide recommendations for tax planning and optimization.
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Stay up to date with financial policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess risks, and provide actionable insights to management for improving profitability and reducing costs.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts to ensure accuracy and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting software to ensure it remains up to date and supports efficient financial operations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of Master’s degree in accounting or Finance
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in finance and accounting.
- Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or a professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA)
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as tally, QuickBooks, etc, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ghanaian tax laws.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- High-level proficiency in budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized general ledger and produce timely financial reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Experience with both internal and external audits.
