SALES STEERING MANAGER

Our client, an international Shipping company is looking for experienced individuals to fill the role of  SALES STEERING MANAGER to assist in the daily coordination of sales activities in the company.

ROLE PROFILE:

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and analyzing sales forecasts, trends, and budgets to assist in the development and maintenance of accounts by establishing volume and revenue goals to maximize profitability for the Company throughout the year. He or she would perform the following duties such as:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively handles requirements of Regional Sales Executive (RSE) and Transportation management system (TMs), and provides detailed feedback on Area activity and data on achieved results.
  • Develops global volume/revenue budgets and forecasts and monitors the overall performance of accounts, following the indicators of the top manager.
  • Steers sales staff to achieve the most attractive business based on equipment imbalances, ship system requirements, and target accounts/commodities.
  • Manages the Business Intelligence (Sales campaign, analysis, others).
  • Manages the Pricing of specific segments & commodities / PG setting / Suggests and discusses with TM possible general actions on the market (Professional Selling Skills (PSS)/Executive Information System (EIS)/HLC)/rates validity) to increase revenue whenever possible.
  • Analyzes competitive information and statistical data.
  • Monitors and provides reports on performance vs. budget.
  • Facilitates e-business initiatives to enhance customer and carrier efficiencies.
  • Markets equipment effectively by steering containers to equipment demand areas and depleting surplus areas.
  • Communicates new requirements, processes, and procedures to staff.
  • Ensures consistent application of Hapag-Lloyd policies to all personnel actions.
  • Monitors and measures the workload of staff to ensure the best process is in place.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering equivalent.
  • 5 – 6 years of experience in the maritime industry

  • Possess knowledge of creating an environment where people communicate openly and honestly.
  • Should have knowledge of Foreign trade.
  • Extensive knowledge of examining issues and problems effectively, generating possible solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the company’s business strategy.
  • Possess working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide effective service to customers.
  • Proficient in English/Advanced level.
  • Should have a high standard of professional and personal business conduct.
  • Should have Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build, maintain and develop partnerships with individuals and groups within the organization.
  • Result-driven team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve and exceed targets.

  • Should possess a Comprehensive knowledge of QV / FIS and other HL systems.
