RENTAL TRUCK DRIVER

Our client a leading rental company is seeking interested and qualified persons to assist with the operations of the company as a RENTAL TRUCK DRIVER.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the company’s rental trucks.
He or she will perform the following duties as well:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload cargo onto rental trucks, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safe transportation.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time and resources.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the rental truck, including checking fluids, tire pressure, and mechanical components.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure conscientious practice of safe work habits and processes.
- Maintain both the inside and outside of the rental truck cleaned at all times.
- Report accidents/incidents as per company standards.
- Ensure defects on rental trucks are immediately reported to the maintenance team.
- Handle fragile or sensitive items with care, ensuring they are properly protected during transport.
- Answer questions and provide information regarding rental policies, procedures, and vehicle operation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of SSCE/SHS qualification.
- Must hold a minimum Class C license.
- Should have at least 3 years of experience in driving rental trucks and must have received defensive driving training in the past two years.
- Must have experience in driving vehicles that use air brakes.
REQUIREMENTS
- Should possess an ECOWAS identity card.
- Must live in and around Cantonments.
- An excellent knowledge of basic truck maintenance concepts is highly desired.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Possess high integrity and honesty.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair
