PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Our client, a plastic manufacturing company has immediate employment for an experienced individual to fill the role of Production Supervisor to help with the daily operations of the company.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the production teams and their needs, inspecting the quality of the final product, and ensuring operations in the factory are done right. He or she will perform the following additional duties:
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organise workflow by preparing schedules and assessing responsibilities.
- Set weekly/daily/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Ensure the safe use of factory equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
- Supervise the daily production output according to specifications while minimizing cost.
- Supervise and train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
- Manage or solve workplace issues that may arise on the production floor and ensure a safe and clean production workspace.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables and observing control points and equipment
- Develop reporting procedures and systems, facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiate and foster teamwork within and between departments.
- Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analysing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to customer requests.
- Research and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to improve efficiency of processes and reduce unnecessary costs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of an HND in any relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Production Supervisor or a similar role.
- Must have proven work experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.

- Must have satisfactory knowledge of the commodity produced by the company.
- Ability to comprehend quality control techniques.
- Ability to utilize diverse machines and possession of practical aptitude.
- Ability to prioritize work and be flexible.
- Must be able to work with a team and consistently meet production deadlines.
- Must be willing to work night shifts.
