PRODUCTION LEAD

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is looking for an experienced individual to oversee the company’s manufacturing process and ensure that the team members fulfil their responsibilities accordingly as the PRODUCTION LEAD.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient production processes by providing technical management and supervising and controlling manufacturing processes at the site. He or she will carry out the following duties:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate the production activities of all production units.
  • Determine the human and material resources needed to meet production goals in conjunction with the Human Resources and Logistics planning units.
  • Manage the effective deployment and utilization of resources and personnel in conjunction with the Planning Unit of the Logistics Department.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Participate in product innovation and renovation activities within the company.
  • Work with quality to train employees to ensure product safety, product quality, and cGMP requirements are met and the highest quality standards are maintained.
  • Plan, develop, and implement strategic action plans in conjunction with fiscal budget planning.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and make suggestions for review as appropriate.
  • Enforce health/safety procedures and policies for operations.
  • Drive change to impact production results through daily and weekly direction setting, including effective pre-shift and post-shift huddles.
  • Build an engaged and capable production team through training, skills development, effective coaching, and communication.
  • Recognize and motivate the production team by creating a positive work environment that fosters engagement/ownership at all levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production problems as they arise and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a HND or Degree in Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in production/manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement and process optimization.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to drive results through measurable management tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong floor presence with the ability to effectively supervise, delegate and motivate team members.
  • Proficient with computer applications and database management systems.
  • Must be confident, self-directed, and have a dynamic leadership style with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels.
  • Must be passionate about customer service and committed to delivering exceptional service.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, both up and down the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve goals.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple priorities.
