MARKET DEVELOPER ( CENTRAL REGION)

Our client, a cement manufacturing company is looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of a MARKET DEVELOPER to assist in the daily sales and to grow an active base of retailers in the industry.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling cement bags through retailing channels across a particular region and ensuring the development and growth of an active base of cement retailers either by operating out of their shops or containers. He/she will also perform the following duties:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aggregate sales volumes from various retailers so that sales representatives can order and deliver through distributors efficiently.
  • Visit all retailers within the assigned territory regularly to strengthen relationships, gather feedback, and address concerns.
  • Achieve the monthly sales targets.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction among distributors and retailers.
  • Develop and manage a target number of retailers that consistently purchase at least 900 bags monthly.
  • Ensure price management.
  • Supply management with timely reports on competitive activities, market trends, and potential new product and service opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Train shop attendants on the company’s products and basic bookkeeping to enhance their product knowledge and improve sales effectiveness.
  • Ensure product availability in the assigned circuit to meet customer demands promptly.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing strategies and support their execution in the assigned region.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a first degree in marketing, administration, or related field of study from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience as a market developer or similar role.

 REQUIREMENTS.

  • Must be positive and enthusiastic.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess strong knowledge of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to develop and execute successful marketing strategies.
  • Must know about digital marketing, social media, and other emerging marketing channels.
  • Must possess good data-gathering and analysis skills.
  • Must work through complex issues and challenges.
  • Must have experience in building and/or managing retail channels.
  • Must be able recruit and/or manage distributors.
  • Must be a professional rider.
