Our client, an agricultural company is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced SALES HEAD to help with the operations of the company.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the sales team, driving revenue growth and expanding market share for the finished products. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and building strong relationships with distributors, retailers and customers. He/she will also perform the following duties.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, market penetration and growth objectives for the spiker & other finished products.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats in the rice market.
  • Define sales targets, quotas and performance metrics for the sales team to drive accountability and results.
  • Identify and prioritize key accounts, distributors, and retailers to maximize sales opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts to ensure profitability and long-term partnerships.
  • Provide support and assistance to key accounts to optimize product placement, promotions, and marketing activities.
  • Recruit, train and develop a high-performing sales team capable of achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Motivate and incentivize the sales team to drive performance and exceed sales goals.
  • Identify and evaluate new sales channels, markets, and distribution opportunities to expand the brand’s reach and market share.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies to ensure product availability, visibility and accessibility across all channels and regions.
  • Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers and trade partners to optimize distribution networks and achieve sales objectives.
  • Forecast sales volumes, revenue projections and inventory requirements based on market demand, historical data, and sales trends.
  • Monitor sales performance, track KPIs and analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, presentations and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, retailers and distributors to understand their needs, preferences and feedback.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints and issues in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Gather market feedback and insights to inform product development, marketing strategies and business decisions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or any related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of working experience in sales at upper, middle and senior levels.
  • Must have proven experience in sales management, preferably in the food or consumer goods industry. Experience with agricultural products is an added advantage.

  • Should have excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have an analytical mindset and proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and reporting tools.
  • Should be results-oriented, with a track record of driving sales growth, expanding market share, and maximizing profitability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions and customer preferences.
