FINANCE & BUSINESS ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER

Our client, a reputable company within the shipping industry is looking for a highly efficient and proactive FINANCE & BUSINESS ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER to assist with the overall administrative operations of the company.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating activities from the country processes, internal controls, bookkeeping, and cost-saving strategies while consciously establishing a culture that encourages customer focus, individual development, efficiency, collaboration, and creates an environment for process improvements. He or she will perform the following duties as well:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for budget adjustment and quarterly forecasts of overhead
  • Produce monthly trend analysis and maintenance of cost standards
  • Manage the business administration and controlling function of Ghana
  • Participate in performance management of the various business units
  • Manage finance closure administration (month/quarter/year-end) within the company guidelines
  • Manage and oversee external and internal audits and ensure unqualified reports are received
  • Manage the balance sheet and income statement accounts and reconciliation thereof
  • Manage accounts receivables and payables within the company
  • Review and develop business processes in line with the company’s guidelines while maintaining process excellence and digitization/automation.
  • Execute cost-saving initiatives and procurement (operational and overhead costs) and provide feedback and proposals to the procurement committee.
  • Oversee the risk management of the Ghana office and ensure the execution of credit policy to minimize the risk of bad debt
  • Manage the cash flow of the country within the company
  • Supervise country-level business systems
  • Maintain a feedback channel to Area MAW BU heads, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives and goals of the Ghana
  • Manage the country’s administrative function, statutory records and ensure total compliance with the company’s global standards and policies as well as local regulatory
  • Support the Country Manager in relation to business administration in the implementation of policies and day-to-day activities
  • Provide reports and analyze key data to drive improvements.
  • Set targets and goals for individual departments within business administration and support them with appropriate training and development.
  • Coach and develop business administration team
  • Have regular performance reviews in line with the company’s policy and area management requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Business Administrative Manager.
  • Must have Professional Certification in Accounting (ACCA or CIMA).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a vast experience in a shipping company or an adjacent industry.
  • Must have profound knowledge of accounting, finance, tax, and legal requirements (both local and IFRS).
  • Must have experience in negotiating and delivering results.
  • Strong analytics and good organizational skills
  • Must have exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with computers, especially MS Office.
  • Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must be familiar with budget planning and enforcement, human resources, and customer service procedures.
