MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Our client, a reputable company within the minerals industry is looking for a highly efficient and proactive MECHANICAL ENGINEER to assist with the administrative operations of the company
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and evaluating mechanical systems and components, creating detailed manufacturing and installation plans, analyzing test results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. He or she will also perform the following duties as well:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Conduct load calculations, energy modelling, and system simulations
- Develop and review construction documents (drawings, specs)
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate and optimize HVAC systems in building designs
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, IPC, and local building codes
- Prepare technical documentation and system reports for compliance and maintenance records
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to air quality, system inefficiencies, and mechanical malfunctions
- Interact with senior management and senior customer representatives
- Perform assignments of limited scope and complexity
- Develop heat load analysis models, and flow models, as required for the design of facility systems
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies and sustainability practices.
- Generate overall plans, layouts, schematics, and flow diagrams, for the concept and implementation phases of projects
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s or a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science or any related role
- A minimum of 4-9years working experience as a Mechanical Engineer
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to independently drive work, and deliver on-time
- Ability to manage multiple projects and project deadlines and work independently
- Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and performing statistical tolerance analysis
- Ability to travel to global manufacturing sites
- Ability to perform product functional analysis and provide technical support to others performing functional analysis
- Proficiency in working with Microstation CAD software
- Must be a self-motivated and committed team member
- Ability to make design calculations to enable the preparation of drawings
- Ability to make suggestions for improvements to design and drafting practice
