ACCOUNTANT

Our client a service provider is seeking interested and qualified persons to assist with the operations of the company as an ACCOUNTANT.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

He or she will perform the following duties as well:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • File and remit taxes and statutory payments (PAYE, SSNIT, VAT).
  • Manage and prepare monthly payroll.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, and local tax and government authorities.
  • Monitor outgoing costs and ensure client invoicing is accurate and timely.
  • Administer and prepare bank reconciliation statements.
  • Monitor and generate account payables to local and foreign suppliers as well as the recovery of accounts receivables.
  • Ensure and prepare statements of account for credit customers.
  • Handle and monitor financial data, including sales revenue, cost of goods, and other expenditures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations including but not limited to Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) requirements, and advising management on the needed actions.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years working experience as an Accountant.
  • Should have experience using QuickBooks Online.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent understanding of tax regulations and statutory payments.
  • Must have experience filing for statutory payments to SSNIT and GRA.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret accounting records and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Must live in and around Cantonments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Should be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
